Cabrini’s Parkinson’s Program specialises in working with people who have Parkinson’s and similar movement disorders, working as a team to help address the unique challenges that individuals face.
Cabrini offers diagnosis and neurological interventions, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and home care. Specialist neurologists provide advanced therapies, including deep brain stimulation and duodopa (Parkinson’s medication provided through a pump). Outpatient rehabilitation provides advice and support for patients, with services including dietetics, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, speech pathology and general advice. Nurses visit patients at home to assist those with more complex symptoms. Program staff have years of experience and are specifically trained to work with people with Parkinson’s.
